Your Family Portrait Experience FAQ

Gerry O’Carroll Photography’s Session Fee is only €100, payable in advance. This fee includes your photo shoot, all preparation of your images, the production of your viewing slideshow and your portrait design and ordering appointment. This special viewing show is your opportunity to design and order the portrait images that will best suit your home.
 

Booking Fee / Deposit

When we book you in for your portrait session we take a €50 booking fee. This is to secure your appointment in our diary. The deposit is returned to you at your ordering appointment.  
 

What to Wear

When it comes to dressing for your shoot we recommend denim and block colours or pale colours. (Blues, Whites, Pinks etc.) If you wish to wear something with a pattern we suggest small patterns where possible. These little details are to create a timeless look in your finished portrait. If in any doubt, bring a couple of options with you or call us in advance.
 

Your Photoshoot

Please watch the movie at the top of the page! This session is all about you and lasts about an hour! During this time our photographer will capture a range of poses, depending on you’re preference. This is stress-free and filled with fun and giggles. Before you leave, your photographer will show you through all of our frame styles, sizes, pricing and any offers we have available. Finally we will book you in for your design & ordering appointment so please bring your diary! We have a beautiful selection of traditional framed wall art as well as some stunning contemporary products which will show off your images at their very best.
 

What happens next?

Once your photoshoot takes place we will arrange a time for you to return to the studio to order your beautiful images, at this first appointment you can purchase as many or as few of your images you wish. As we work on an À-la-carte menu you are not tied down to any set packages, you simply choose your favourite images in the presentations you love.
 

Pricing and Products

You are welcome to visit the studio in advance of your session for a personal tour of our  products and pricing, otherwise, a full price and product guide will be given to you at the end of your portrait session. Our products range from small desk portraits, starting from just €95 which make ideal gifts for family and friends. To striking bespoke framed wall portraits, starting from just €295 which are our most popular option. If a more contemporary look is required we also offer cutting edge products including acrylic, aluminium, box and edge frames. For those customers who require a collection of images we also offer multi mount framed options and beautiful portrait albums.
 

Digital:
Please note that as a fine art portrait studio our aim is to display your beautiful portraits around your home for you to enjoy everyday and as such Gerry O'Carroll Photography do not sell loose prints and electronic images.
 

Family Portrait Experience Vouchers Terms & Conditions:
 

1. The Family Portrait Experience Voucher (FPEV) must be used to attend your photo session within THREE months or it will no longer be valid. The validity of your voucher may be extended by mutual agreement for exceptional family circumstances only, however this extended validity will not extend beyond 12 months from the date of initial receipt or purchase.
 

2. The FPEV may not be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer, and may only be used as described and the FPEV may not be used to purchase photographs from a previous photoshoot.
 

3.The FPEV IS NOT TRANSFERABLE and has no cash value. Gerry O'Carroll Photography assumes that you enter a "Prize Draw" and/or purchase one of our Family or Pet "Portrait Experience" Vouchers solely for yourself and your immediate family's benefit ONLY. Due to GDPR Regulations it is not possible to transfer a Family Portrait Experience Voucher (whether received as a Competition prize or as a Website or Winterval purchase) to anyone else, for any reason whatsoever, including "Gifting". Vouchers intended for Gifting have a clearly defined bearer value and as such are subject to "Gift Voucher" regulations. Gift Vouchers are available separately from our website and / or Studio ONLY.
 

4. The FPEV is valid only for a full family photoshoot, which all family members (both parents and children) must attend. For your voucher to be valid, you must attend both the Photoshoot AND the Ordering session at the Studio.
 

5. The studio photoshoot is valued at €100. It Includes the Studio session and all the work we will do on your pictures. It includes preparation of your Preview Show as well as your Ordering Appointment back at the studio, approx 7-14 days later.
 

6. Family Portrait Experience Package values and what's included.

(a) Silver Package valued at €195. This includes your studio photoshoot as outlined in (5) above valued at €100. It also includes one complimentary desk-framed image from your photoshoot (7 x 5 inches, approx) valued at €95. This is selected by you at your Ordering Appointment. The full €95 value of this complimentary framed image may be substituted against the value of any larger Portrait. PLEASE NOTE:-Portraits ordered and paid in full at your first ordering appointment are archived. Images not ordered and paid for at your first ordering appointment are not archived and are generally deleted within 7 days of your appointment. They are NOT archived for you to buy in the future.

(b) Gold Package valued at €245. This includes your studio photoshoot as outlined in (5) above valued at €100. It also includes one complimentary desk-framed image from your photoshoot (10 x 8 inches, approx) valued at €145. This is selected by you at your Ordering Appointment. The full €145 value of this complimentary framed image may only be substituted against the value of any larger Portrait.

(c) Platinum Package valued at €495. This includes your studio photoshoot as outlined in (5) above valued at €100. It also includes one complimentary"Fully-Framed 10" Wall Portrait"  image from your photoshoot (Overall size 16x14 inches, approx) valued at €395. This is selected by you at your Ordering Appointment. The full €395 value of this complimentary framed image may only be substituted against the value of any larger Portrait. 

 

(d) Grand Prize Packages valued at €795 - €1500. These Grand Prizes include your studio photoshoot as outlined in (5) above valued at €100.They  also include Portraits of your choice, to the value of the remaining balance of your Grand Prize Voucher. These will  be selected by you at your Ordering Appointment. By accepting the Grand Prize Voucher, prize-winners agree to participate in a promotional photoshoot to include their Framed Portraits which may be posted on our Social Media platforms, in order to further promote and validate our grand prize draws. It is further agreed that Gerry O'Carroll Photography may, as creator of all images, tastefully use any image created in your session, WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, for the purposes of promotion, publicity or marketing of the Family Portrait Experience Voucher and/or of Gerry O'Carroll Photography and associated business and promotions.

7. Due to limited Diary availability, Only one FPEV Promotional Voucher may be used per Family or Pet.
 

8. Diary appointments for Studio Sessions and Ordering Appointments are subject to availability.
 

9. At the time of booking your photoshoot, you will be asked to provide debit card/credit card details. Our studio policy is to take a fully refundable €50 deposit to secure your appointment in the diary. This is of course returned to you in full, at your Ordering Appointment.
 

10. In the event of cancellation of either your photoshoot and/or Ordering Appointment please provide a minimum of 3 days notice or a cancellation charge will be applied.
 

11. We understand that brief illness can arise at short notice, particularly with little ones. If you have any doubts that someone is not really up to it, please call us to request a reschedule and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
 

12. Gerry O'Carroll Photography photoshoots always involve some physical activity, which is undertaken at your own risk. Please advise us if you wish to restrict this.
 

13. You may not sell the FPEV to any third parties or via the internet without firstly obtaining the express written consent of Gerry O'Carroll Photography.
 

14. Please note, as we are a fine art portrait studio and our desire is to have your portraiture beautifully displayed in your home, not left languishing in a drawer, we do not sell loose or unframed Portraits or electronic images on CD or USB. PLEASE NOTE:- Portraits ordered and paid in full at your first ordering appointment are archived. Images not ordered and paid for at your first ordering appointment are not archived and are generally deleted within 7 days of your appointment. They are NOT archived for you to buy in the future.
 

15. If you have redeemed a promotional Voucher (either bought at any less-than-face-value promotional price, or, received it as a Prize Draw Winner or Runner-up) Gerry O'Carroll Photography reserves the right, as creator of all images, to tastefully use any image created in your session, WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, for the purposes of promotion, publicity or marketing of the Family Portrait Experience Voucher and/or of Gerry O'Carroll Photography and associated business and promotions. 

This may include (but is not limited to) websites, social media platforms, exhibition displays both within and without the Studio etc.
 

16. We will do our best to accommodate requests received in writing / email etc not to use images as soon as practically possible and at our sole discretion.
 

17. Voucher Partners (including Waterford Credit Union, etc) In the unlikely event that you have received more than one Family Portrait Experience Voucher due to your membership or participation in Waterford Credit Union, you may redeem the highest Value voucher received from Gerry O'Carroll's at your family Portrait Experience. This voucher takes precedence over any lower value voucher. You may not combine the value of one or more Family Portrait Experience vouchers (they are not Gift Vouchers) for use together at a single Portrait experience. The lower value voucher will become void and deleted from our system. E&OE.
